“Wolf Warriors” on Facebook recently spoke with Republican Ken Miller about wolves. Here is what happened “KILLEM ALL” “That was the answer to the first question I asked Republican Gubernatorial candidate Ken Miller. I asked him why he felt this way. He reply was “because wolves are taking away his traditions and heritage”. He told me the “w…olves are killing all the deer and elk”. He then turned his back towards me and started to walk away. In a voice he could hear I explained that we have 18 percent more elk now in Montana then when wolves were reintroduced into Yellow in 1995. He yelled to me that my information was incorrect. I told him that these statistics came from Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks. Dont you believe they are capable and accurate. Silence was the response.”
This is exactly why we do not need politicians deciding the fate of wolves or ANYONE with this mentality. Please visit Ken Miller through this link and tell him what you feel about his comments about wolves!
Miller’s issue page decries “wolf infiltration” and that he supports states like Arizona which are “demanding immigration law enforcement.” Both wolves and immigrants for foreign enemies.
On Ken Miller’s site, he implies “Real Solutions,” “Truth,” and “Integrity.” Integrity means adherence to moral and ethical principles. Ken wants to “KILL EM’ ALL!” So, where is the ethics and morality Ken? Truth? Ken cannot even provide any facts or documentation for his plot to assassinate every wolf. Real solutions? Wiping out an entire species is not a real solution! Wolf Preservation challenges everyone to visit his site, http://miller4governor.com/contact/
and tell him what you think about his lack of morality and reasoning. Once you’ve written your comments, encourage others to do the same!
So Ken Miller, you want to kill all the wolves. How easy it is to blame another species for something they’ve never been known to do, but which hunters looking for trophies have always done with no thought as to how their actions affect others. Wolves have never taken more than they can sustain their pack with, man on the other hand, has always taken more than was just or fair because he’s assumed he has the right to do whatever he pleases and the consequences be damned. You need to first get your facts straight and then secondly realize that you have threatened the one predator who keeps rodents at a minimum so that you don’t have to deal with them. Wolves are opportunistic in that they can and will eat another’s kill. Case in point, most deaths of farm animals come from coyote and not wolf as is assumed. However most of us know the truth of that.
For you to call for the decimation of a species based upon a lack of fact tells me one thing – you have no conscience with which to determine truths or lies and you don’t care either way because you have no sense of justice or morals whatsoever. I would encourage you to back off from this commitment of yours because you can and will find there are consequences for your actions based upon Karmic Law. And no this is not a threat, I don’t make threats, I do, however, make promises, and I promise you that there will come a time when you will rue your actions and intent and you will pay the price. Leave the wolves alone and pray you have a long life as I wouldn’t want to be in your shoes when you face your maker and have to explain your actions towards the animals and towards other humans.
As far as immigration goes, you are an immigrant and the only people who are not are the indigenous people, so who are you to call the kettle black when you’re the pot?
Wake up and smell the coffee – for the time is coming when your kind is going to pay for all the greed you’ve shown this earth and Her inhabitants. You’re on the wrong side of the equation and She will point that out to you clearly, very clearly.
Barbara, all though your words are strong and there’s passion in what your saying you have to try to be open minded to all options on the table right now for wolves. There is alot of big talk in Montana right now against wolves and the reason being is because of politics. Trust in the people that have dedicated their lives to preserve and protect wildlife. Here’s some facts for you regarding wolves. A pack of wolves is a finely tuned killing machine that shows little or no discretion towards what it kills. The world we live in now consists first and foremost about humans. Many will disagree but that is reality. Secondly, I myself watched and video taped a pack of wolves kill 12 elk and leave all 12 elk to waste. The reason for the killing was to hone their predator skills. That’s what wolves do, they are a feirce predator and extremely good at hunting and killing. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, this is what god created. But, we as biologists have to recognize the traits and behaviors of these animals and also recognize the fact that they co-habitate with humans. These animals must be managed. It is impossible in our society and the world we live in to have free roaming wildlife that are un-managed. Both federal and state laws are in place to prevent eradication of any animal but I say this again, they have to be managed effectively. Until they are, statements are going to be made to “kill them all” because people feel like nothings being done. If everyone on this blog is truely interested in “preserving” wolves than support those state agencies that want to manage them.
Younger, more inexperienced wolves would undoubtedly gain invaluable skills during the elk hunts your described. Primarily though, they may have simply taken advantage of unusual situations where wild prey were reasonably easy to catch, such as displaying some kind of weakness, especially during the winter months in deep snow. The wolf pack may have returned later to feed on some of the carcasses; obviously leftovers would remain for scavengers.
It’s important to realize that some people wish to “kill them all” no matter how wolves are managed and if given the opportunity would do so. Mexican Gray wolf numbers remain at critically low numbers, yet some individuals want the survivors eliminated. About 42 wolves remain and illegal killings continue to be their primary threat. What would be your solution? Take care!
You know, wolves are destroying the elk populations. They need to be killed. I stand by Miller in “KILL’EM” but not in”ALL” I’d also like to congragulate Robert Millage for the first legal wolf kill in decades.
“Somebody,” while wolves can be a contributing factor in areas, research has indicated that harvest rates by people and severe weather contribute to the primary decline in elk herds. Pronghorns made a positive comeback once wolves returned by keeping coyote populations in check. The landscape also improved. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, along with many others, report that wolves help maintain healthy, dynamic elk herds. What evidence do you have? I’m open enough to realize that you and I will never see eye to eye on the legalization of wolf management, however I hope that you can recognize what the wolf brings to nature.
WolfPreservation, I see the haters have found your respectful blog. Its only a matter of time before the arguments go from merit to demonizing and hate. So sorry.
Oh well, knew it would happen eventually! 🙂
